There are four parts to the listening paper in PET.
For each part, it’s vital you READ THE QUESTIONS BEFORE the recording begins. There are somtimes a few seconds to do this (part 2 gives you 45 seconds, part 3 gives you 20 seconds).
Remember, as you listen, to FOCUS on the question and choose the answer you think is right to THAT question.
When you’ve listened twice, MOVE ON and read the next question.
Remember too that in each question, there are distractors. That means you’ll probably hear lots of other relevant information, but it won’t be the information you need to give the ANSWER to the QUESTION. IT’s there to distract you! Watch out!
Never leave any questions unanswered. You gain nothing for a blank answer.
